THE LAMBETH ALMO, LAMBETH LIVING, GOES LIVE.

Yesterday members of the ALMO Board and Tenant Council were told that Lambeth Council had received the Minister's consent to their s.27 Application and that Lambeth Living will now "go live" towards the end of May. However, it has not yet been disclosed whether the Company will receive the full amount requested in the Council's bid. Whatever amount has been agreed, such additional funding will only be released after the ALMO has been inspected by the Audit Commission and has been awarded a two-star, or better, rating for the service it provides.

It will be interesting to hear what funding has been provided. Strange that two days later no public announcement has been made, and that the figure has not been published. I would have expected the Labour Party to have made a big thing of it!

Does seem strange that no announcement has been made regarding the amount that is going to be made available. Is this usual? There have been so many questions regarding the test of opinion, &c. that one would have thought that they would have told us right away.

In an unusual move Lambeth Council appear to have chosen to announce the grant of their Section 27 Application on the blogsite, www.24dash.com, rather than their own website.

Presumably a fuller announcement giving details of the funding that has been allotted to Lambeth Living will be made within the course of the next few days.

Still nothing on www.lambeth.gov.uk today - very odd

I wonder if the delay is because we have only been given a part of what we asked for? I remember there was a big delay in publishinmg the result of the ballot too.

www.thisislocallondon.co.uk has an article by Cara Lee "Lambeth Almo given go ahead" which tells us what is really happening.

But why have we not heard this first from our councillors and Lambeth Housing. Will this be another great step backward like "REFRAMING". They weren't so shy when they wanted us to vote for this wonderful scheme!

Most unlikely that this council's housing service will be granted ** status under present management.

Anyone who follows the financial news will also be aware that we are moving into a recession similar to that of 1992/3.

So don't expect any funding or improvements over the next 5/6 years.
